Ugadi

Ugadi is the New year festival of the people who live in the states of Andhra pradesh, Goa, Maharashtra and Karnataka, with the beginning of the new hindu lunar calendar, mantras are chanted and with the new year predictions. Ugadi is also celebrated in Assam, Punjab, West bengal and Tamilnadu. Ugadi/Yugadi is the name which is derived from two(2) sanskrit words of the 'yuga' and the 'adi', which is meant as age(yuga) and beginning(adi) respectively.The ugadi festival comes on different days every year as the festival is calculated in terms of the lunar calendar(i.e., Indian Calendar) which consists of the cyclic sixty(60) years which falls on the "Chaitra Shuddha Paadyami".

On Ugadi the Ugadi Pachadi is the famous and traditional preparation which consists of the six natural tastes Sweet, Bitter, Sour, Spicy, Tangy and salty which symbolizes that the human life is the combination of different varieties of happy, sad, anger, fear, surprise and disgust. Hence the Ugadi festival brings the human life with the great beginning for the better future.
